The Washington County Commissioners approve a resolution to set a public hearing regarding the alteration by closure and reservation of Southwest Willow Avenue in District 1.

Chairman Mitch Antle says this focuses on 122-feet of roadway outside of a platted area. Commissioner Antle says the property owner was going to simply put up a gate to close the road unless someone challenged the move. He says those plans changed when the property owner formalized the process last week by way of petition to Washington County and the City of Bartlesville.

The section of roadway in question is south of the East Tuxedo Boulevard and SW Willow Ave. intersection. A public hearing regarding the road closure will take place on Tuesday, July 5, at 9:30 a.m. in the Administration Building at 400 S. Johnstone Avenue.

Also in the meeting, the Washington County Commissioners approved a resolution for donation to Washington County Emergency Management. The $3,500 donation from the Cherokee Nation will go to volunteer fire departments. The Commissioners thank the Cherokee Nation for supporting public safety services in Washington County.

The Commissioners would approve a detention services agreement with ROCMND Are Youth Services, Inc. out of Craig County, too. The agreement is for fiscal year 2022-2023 and comes at a rate of $25 per day.

Job descriptions for Washington County Information Technology Employees would be approved later in the meeting. The descriptions for two positions – Director of Information Technology and System Administrator – would be approved.

Lastly, the Commissioners would award six month road materials for June 1, 2022 to Nov. 30, 2022.

The Washington County Commissioners will reconvene on Monday, June 6, at 9:30 a.m. They will meet on the second floor of the Administration Building, located at 400 S. Johnstone Avenue in Bartlesville.
