The Doenges Ford Indians fell in an early hole and couldn’t dig themselves out. Bartlesville fell to Paragould, Arkansas 4-1 on day one of the Twin Lakes Classic in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

The Tribe fell behind 3-0 in the opening frame of the contest. Offensively the team was able to string together base hits but couldn’t come up big with runners in scoring position. Both Luke Fox and Cole Hancock notched three hits apiece. OKWU product Kaeden Young picked up the lone RBI in the fourth inning.

Alan Covarrubias started on the mound and settled in nicely after a rocky start. The lefty struck out three over four innings. Barnsdall’s Josh Weber pitched two scoreless innings of relief as well.

The Indians will have to win their next two games to have a chance to advance to bracket play on Sunday. Bartlesville takes on North Central at 5:30 p.m., a game that can be head on KWON AM 1400—FM 93.3, 95.1 with video streaming at KWONTV.com.
