Former OKWU Soccer Star Playing Professionally
Former Oklahoma Wesleyan soccer superstar Stefan Lukic has signed a professional contact and is thriving in one of the op domestic leagues in the U.S. the Serbian-native signed a contract and is playing with the Northern Colorado Hailstorm in the third-tier of American pro soccer.
Lukic helped the team pull off an upset of Real Salt Lake, a Major League Soccer team. The Hailstorm won that match on April 20 as a part of the U.S. Open Cup. Lukic was a starter in the monumental upset that the Hailstorm winning 1-0. The former OKWU star is still looking for his first career goal eraly in the USL League One season.
Lukic starred at OKWU during his four years as he was named an NAIA All-American four times. He led the Eagles on several deep runs in the postseason during his time in Bartlesville. Lukic graduated last spring with a marketing degree.
