The Doenges Ford Indians are back at it again on Wednesday afternoon, as the Tribe plays their first two games in the Oklahoma Collegiate League.

This is a newly formed league, and the Indians with a strong high school contingent on their roster will be one of the younger teams in the league.

Bartlesville is coming off a 2-2 weekend in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The Indians won two games on Saturday over Sheridan and the host-team Forth Smith Sportsmen. Those are two of the premiere legion programs in Arkansas. Bartlesville then came a run short from making the title game.

Manager John Pannell says it was a successful weekend in the Natural State.

It will be all college guys coming into Bill Doenges for the Tribe to play the two openers.

The Indians will throw Bradee Rigdon, Kyler Hancock, Ryan Jones and likely Josh Weber during the two games today. Former Bruin in Jakob Hall who just wrapped up his season at ORU will join the team later this week.

Pannell talks about the challenge these OCL games will represent.

Game one at 4:00 on Wednesday afternoon against Marucci Midwest will air on Sports Talk 1500 AM – 99.1 FM – KPGM. The second game at 6:15 against the Diamond Dogs will air at 6:15 on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1.

You can watch them both at KWONTV.com.

The Indians will leave for Branson on Thursday morning for five games over three days.
