Indians Split OCL Twin Bill - Head to Arkansas

It was a split night for the Doenges Ford Indians in the second evening for the Tribe in the Oklahoma Collegiate League on Tuesday night.

Bartlesville lost to the Generals 7-4, then topped the SWAT Academy Rebels 10-4.

Both games had their moments.

In the first contest against the Generals some shaky defense and lack of timely hitting hurt the Tribe. Bartlesville left eight on base in six innings. Meanwhile four Indian errors would account for five unearned General runs.

With Bartlesville trailing 5-0 in the fourth inning, Oklahoma Wesleyan product Kaeden Young came through with one of the biggest hits of the day.

Young blasted this triple to the gap in left-center field to clear the bases.

The Indians would get the tying run to the plate, but could not come through after the time limit hit, and the Tribe fell by three. Young had all four of the RBIs in the loss. Wesleyan Christian School product Myson Vanwinkle pitched three innings, scattered six hits and struck out three in the loss.

Meanwhile in game two it was a different story. The Indians would get timely hits to take an early lead against the Rebels and cruise to a six-run victory. Harrison Clark had two separate two-RBI doubles to help the effort.

This one in the first inning put the Tribe on top for good.

Clark had a triple off the wall in the first game too, for three extra-base-hits on the day. Bartlesville would tack on seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to effectively end the game.

Former Bruin and current Oral Roberts star Jakob Hall had his first action of the summer. He threw two perfect innings and logged two strikeouts.

Bartlesville is now 2-1-1 in OCL play and 12-5-1 overall.

The Tribe leaves for Mountain Home, Arkansas on Wednesday, as the Twin Lakes Classic  begins on Thursday and will feature 3-5 games over four days for the Indians. Coverage on KWON and KWONTV.com.
