The City Championship in Bartlesville golf is staying in the family.

The Jim Curd Sr. Dink’s Pitt BBQ City Golf Championship went to Landon Curd on Sunday evening at Hillcrest Country Club.

Curd separated himself from the pack with a second-round 73 to win the tournament for the first time.

Only Spencer King (72) shot better on day two, but combined with his 76 on Saturday, Curd won the event by two strokes.

Bartlesville High boy’s golf coach Jeff Rude and former Bartlesville High golfer Tanner John finished second with a two-day score of 151. King took fourth with a 152. Curd now joins his dad Jim, who was a previous champion in 2003.

Curd says winning the tournament that is named after his grandfather means more than you can imagine.

Curd lead the tournament after day one a year ago, but fell back during day two’s action at Adam’s Golf Club. The event was flipped this year, with Curd’s home course, Hillcrest Country Club, hosting day two after Saturday at Adam’s.

Curd says that was helpful in his quest for the city crown.

Jim and Landon Curd join Terry (1995) and Nathan Hughes (08, 11, 16, 18, 2020) as the second-ever father-son duo to win the event.

Elsewhere on the course on Sunday, Trey Osborne won the first flight, while Scott Farmer won the senior flight.
