Nowata Pummels Hulbert for First Win

Folks, we had some unusual game time action this week as Nowata hosted the 0-2 Hulbert Riders Thursday night at Ironmen Memorial Stadium.

The Ironmen were coming off 2 straight blowout losses at home in games they were competing in for a while, but a couple of later games would cost them. BUT, not last night. Nowata jumped into the winner’s column for the first time this season, and for almost a full 3 years.

Not only did they win the game, they demolished the Riders, 42-19. They scored in a myriad of ways, and forced 4 total turnovers on the night. 3 via the fumble, and one interception coming thanks to Peyton Trotter, who also had 2 rushing scores on the night.

Ironmen QB Trevor Emberson also had 3 passing scores on the night, all to Eli Savala. Ironmen Head Coach Chance Juby also got his first win as the Head coach of the Nowata Ironmen, a game he likely will never forget. Juby talks about the win.

Nowata moves to 1-2 on the season and travels to Caney Valley next week looking to extend that new win streak.
