OKWU Baseball Sweeps Weekend Series

The Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball team continues to make a late push toward the postseason. The Eagles took care of business with a three game sweep over York College in a home series this past weekend. OKWU outscored the Panthers 39-10 to extend its winning streak to six games.

The Eagles slugged 12 home runs on the weekend—including nine in Saturday’s 20-4 rout of York. Wesleyan’s offense is getting hot at just the right time as the team has scored double-digit runs in four of its last six game during the streak.

After a solid weekend the Eagles have slid up to fifth in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference standings. OKWU is 33-16 on the year with just four regular season games remaining. Every win the Eagles record gives them a higher chance to be selected as a potential at-large bid for the NAIA Regionals.

OKWU plays Southwestern in its home finale on Wednesday before a weekend road trip to play St. Mary in a three games set.
