OKWU Softball Thriving Ahead of Postseason

The Oklahoma Wesleyan softball team put together one of its best seasons in recent memory and has an opportunity to make waves in the postseason. The Lady Eagles are the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament slated to start Thursday.

OKWU put together its second consecutive 30 win season and are looking to make a trip to the NAIA tournament for the first time since 2018. OKWU went 35-14 in the regular season including sweeps in eight conference series.

The Lady Eagles were led by a strong pitching staff anchored by freshman Maddy Wiese who went 18-6 with a 2.57 ERA. OKWU also had a top-tier with four different hitters with a batting average over .400.

OKWU will square off with Avila in the first game of the tournament on Thursday at 1 p.m. Wesleyan beat Avila in both regular season meetings.
