No games for the Doenges Ford Indians this weekend, as the Tribe will have its first weekend in a month without competitive baseball.

However, the club will still be busy at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium. The now-annual Turf and Dirt Showcase is taking place at Rigdon Field, through Sunday.

The event is designed for some of the younger uncommitted Indians to get their due in front of college coaches. Manager John Pannell talks about the showcase.

The showcase was in its first season a year ago and it lead to four Doenges Ford Indians earning some college money and making connections to continue their career at the next level. Bartlesville has a handful of younger high school guys who will be on display this weekend, as well as the current college players making different connections.

Pannell says he hopes this gives some Indians exposure.

Drills and scrimmages will run all weekend at Doenges Stadium.

Bartlesville is 16-8-1 on the year. The Indians next game is on Tuesday afternoon in Edmond when Bartlesville rejoins Oklahoma Collegiate League action.
