Bartlesville High girls’ basketball got their second win of the season on Friday night, as the Lady Bruins held on for a non-District win at Muskogee.

Bartlesville won a grind-it-out contest against the Roughers, 36-33.

The game was never separated by more than six points. Bartlesville would make enough plays in the final few moments to hang on.

Up by one with only seconds remaining, BHS got a great press break from its backcourt in Cassie Snead and Alayah Lunn. Snead found freshman Sadie Reynolds streaking toward the basket, her layup would end up winning the ballgame for the Bruins.

Lunn was the Patriot Family of Autos player of the game. She led BHS in scoring with 11.

Despite having the lead for 90-percent of the game, it was never comfortable for Bartlesville. The Bruins would have a six-point lead in the first and five-point in the second.

This and-one, also in the second half, was a big-time bucket that helped separate the Bruins.

Mikka Chambers would add in nine, including a couple first half three-pointers.

BHS girls are 2-2 on the year. Both clubs will next get back into District play on Tuesday night on the road at Enid in a double-header on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. Video coverage on KWONTV.com.
