A U.S. District Judge sentenced a Skiatook man to 12 years in prison and three years of supervised release. This comes after Jesse Wayne Caughron pleaded guilty to assaulting an intimate dating partner by strangulation, suffocation and attempting to strangle and suffocate in Indian Country and witness tampering.

Court documents state that Caughron accused his partner of cheating on him at which time he suffocated her with a pillow, hit her and caused her to lose consciousness. After getting a protective order against Caughron, he violated it and misled the victim, preventing her from testifying.

The Tulsa Police Department worked in conjunction with the FBI on this case.
