Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) is now the full owner and operator of the Green Country Power Plant in Jenks, a move aimed at boosting reliability and meeting growing energy demands across the state.

The 795-megawatt natural gas facility will help deliver steady, cost-effective power to homes and businesses. The transition follows the Oklahoma Corporation Commission’s June 4 approval of the acquisition.

“This is a big step forward for our customers,” said PSO President Leigh Anne Strahler. “Green Country Power Plant strengthens the grid and supports Oklahoma’s energy needs as the state continues to grow.”

PSO, a subsidiary of American Electric Power, serves nearly 575,000 customer accounts in eastern and southwestern Oklahoma.
