It was a successful senior night for both Pawhuska basketball teams, as they each got victories over Pawnee.

The boys held a consistent lead throughout the game, taking a 20-14 lead into halftime and getting a 40-36 win. Pawhuska never lost the lead in a tight fourth quarter, but the Blackbears trimmed the deficit to one several times. With time winding down, it was Darian West who made this basket to put Pawhuska up three.

On the opposite end, Antwine Hamilton intercepted a pass and Jenson Snodgrass was fouled and went to the free throw line, extending the lead to a two possession game. Nine players scored for Pawhuska, but Blaine Manning led the way with nine points.

Defense led the way for the Lady Huskies in a 38-13 win over Pawnee. Pawhuska didn't allow a point in the second quarter and only allowed seven points in the final three quarters.

Defense led to offense all night long, as evidenced right here on this steal from Brooklyn Miles and basket on the opposite end by Emily Curry.

Miles led the way for Pawhuska, finishing with 15 points. Curry added 12.

Up next for Pawhuska is a district showdown on Thursday at Fairland. The girls will tip at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow around 7:30 p.m. We will have coverage of those games on 99.1 FM KPGM and audio available at KPGMTV.com.
