Aidan Howze Wins Big Honor
Big time honor for another Lady Bruin swim superstar came out on Wednesday.
Aidan Howze was selected as the 2022 Jim Thorpe High School Player of the Year in Girls Swimming. The award is given by the Oklahoma Coaches Association in partnership with the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.
Howze is another University of Kansas swimming and diving commit, joining a long pipeline of Lady Bruin swimmers heading to Lawrence.
Howze helped the BHS girls to a third place finish at 6A State earlier this year. She swam with Bartlesville her freshman year before taking two years off for homeschooling, then returned for her senior campaign.
She was one of a couple Lady Bruin upperclassmen who helped foster a younger talented group that inherits the program.
Howze was the individual state champion in the girl’s 200 IM and 100 breaststroke this past winter.
