Bartlesville High football held its spring game on Thursday night at Custer Stadium.

It was a picture-perfect night for football, and many different Bruins performed well in the varsity Navy vs. White contest.

The White team scored two early touchdowns on passes from quarterback Nate Neal to Julian Uribe and Austin Zink, and those two scores ended up standing.

White topped Navy 12-7.

The Navy squad led by running back PJ Wallace would come from behind and had a couple chances to win it. Navy scored on a Brett Eaves quarterback keeper. Eaves also connected with Jett Scully on a long pass to set up the touchdown.

The evening showcased the continued improvement of Neal at the quarterback spot. Neal will be a second-year starter this fall. It also showed a handful of new Bruins like Uribe, and tailback Stefen Williams.

Bartlesville head coach Harry Wright talks about Neal and the newcomers.

The Bruin defense was one of the biggest stories of the evening. Both sides only allowed three touchdowns combined. Last night was the first day where BHS went full contact to keep guys healthy.

During Navy’s final drive, a big hit jarred free what would have been a first-down grab.

Wright says the defense was excited to hit.

Bartlesville will wrap up spring practice this week before going to team camps and 7-on-7 competitions this summer.
