BHS Track and Field to State

Bartlesville High track and field gets going in the 6A State Tournament. The Lady Bruins and Bruins got eight athletes qualified for State at Regionals last weekend.

Wesley Turner will have a good shot for a State title in pole vault as a junior. He has some of the highest marks in the state this season.

Michael Murphy in discus will also likely have a chance at an individual gold medal.

The BHS girls also had several qualifiers.

It will be two events for Alayna Nightengale. Bartlesville head track and field coach David Ayres talks about Nightengale’s personal records and Regionals. 

Meanwhile four girls qualified for the 4 X 400 relay.

Evelynn Pratt as a senior, Adilynn Kuntz, Madilyn Macolmn, Sofia Varela, and Cadence DeWitt as an alternate. DeWitt was a runner during Regionals after an illness.

Ayres talks about the 4X400 relay squad. 

State will be Friday and Saturday at Western Heights High School in Oklahoma City.
