The girls took care of business in emphatic fashion, rolling past Miami 65–21 in a game that was effectively decided before most fans had settled into their seats. Defense set the tone early and never let up. The pressure was relentless, the energy consistent, and the scoreboard reflected it. When you hold a team to 21 points, that’s not luck, that’s commitment on the defensive end.

Now comes the part where things get interesting. Regionals tip off Tuesday, February 24 at 6 p.m., and the challenge level jumps considerably. The girls will travel to face defending state champion Lincoln Christian on their home floor. Yes, that Lincoln Christian. So if anyone was hoping for an easy path forward, that fantasy ended the second the bracket was announced.

Still, there’s confidence inside the locker room. The team believes if they play well this week, there’s a legitimate shot to advance to the Area tournament. The formula isn’t complicated: defend like they did against Miami and shoot the ball efficiently. They’ve proven they’re capable. Now it’s about doing it when the spotlight gets a little brighter and the opponent has a trophy case to back up the hype.
