Bartlesville High baseball is still in the running to host a regional, as the Bruins beat Bixby in game one of a two-game series on Monday evening.

BHS won a wild one, 15-10 at Bixby.

Bartlesville did it with offense. The Bruins cracked 13 hits and took eight walks from Spartan pitching. Leading 10-5 after four innings, Bartlesville would tack on five more much-need insurance runs in the sixth and seventh.

The big bat in the lineup was senior Bradee Rigdon. Rigdon hit two home runs, his second and third of the season. He finished going 4-5 with four runs scored and five RBIs.

Early in the year head coach Cody Price said he thought this lineup had the potential to score some runs.

Starting pitcher Brenden Asher grinded through 6.1. He gave up 14 hits and eight earned runs. Zeb Henry came in and got the final two outs after surrendering a run.

BHS improves to 22-11 on the year and 8-4 n District play. Bartlesville is still one game back in the loss column from second in 6A-4.

Another win over Bixby on Tuesday and a Stillwater victory over Enid would be beneficial for Bartlesville’s regional hosting odds.

A 6:00 first pitch in game two of the series from Doenges on Tuesday night. We will have that game for you on KWON and KWONTV.com.
