Bruin Baseball Falls in Stillwater Rd. 2

Bartlesville High baseball couldn’t complete the sweep over Stillwater on Tuesday night, as the Pioneers got revenge for a Monday Bruin win.
BHS fell to Stillwater, 10-0 in a five-inning run rule. The loss splits the season series against one of the 6A-4 District leaders.
A couple of crucial two-out errors in a seven-run Stillwater second inning ended up being the difference. Barrett Merciez competed well on the mound, but gave up nine runs in the outing, all seven of those in the second frame were unearned.
Sam Marcella was also solid in a couple innings of relief, but the big second inning would put the writing on the wall.
Despite not scoring, BHS battled at the plate. Merciez poked through this base hit to put a couple of runners on for the Bruins in the third.
Bartlesville drops to 6-4 in District action and 16-10 overall. The Bruins are next at Ponca City on Thursday evening.
Our next broadcast will be on Monday, when Bartlesville hosts one of the other District leaders in Bixby.
