Bruin Baseball Loses Tough One at Muskogee

A tough one on Tuesday night for Bartlesville High baseball, as the Bruins could not quite get a District sweep against Muskogee.

Again, the Roughers rallied late and this time topped BHS 5-4 to salvage a split in the set.

Muskogee scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to grab the one-run advantage. The Roughers knocked out four singles to take the lead. BHS got a base runner in the top of the seventh but could not get the tying score.

Bartlesville again scored early. Down one after the first, the Bruins tied things up on a clutch hit from Wyatt Mathis in the second inning.

BHS would tack on one more later in the frame and would never trail again until the Muskogee runs in the sixth.

Up one in the top of the sixth, Bartlesville got a big insurance run off a Muskogee error, and it appeared like BHS may have gotten the breathing room it needed.

Hudson Baker again pitched well in his third District start. He gave up seven hits over 5.1 innings. He struck out four and walked one.

BHS is 12-13 and is off on Wednesday. Two District series remain.
