Bruins Kick Off 2024 at Newcastle

Bartlesville High will begin the football season on Friday night, as one of the first games in the state.

BHS travels to Newcastle to begin the season.

First game ever for the Racers against a 6A team. Bartlesville also brings in a new-look team in 2024. After some roster turnover and graduation of last year’s seniors, there are only a handful of players back with multiple years of starting experience.

Despite not having a ton of three-year starters, there is internal belief within the program that increased depth should be a major positive.

Head coach Harry Wright talks about what depth could do for this year’s Bruins.

Newcastle is new to Class 5A, having operated in 4A the past 10 years. Wright says the Racers are more than capable of having success against 6A opponents.

The Racers are breaking in a 6-5, 230 lb. senior at quarterback and have a nearly 1,500-yard rusher back at the tailback spot.

Wright talks keys for a Bruin victory on Friday evening.

Bartlesville travels to Newcastle for a 7:00 kick with a 6:30 pregame.

We will have the game on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1 with a video live stream on KWONTV.com.
