Bartlesville High basketball split a pair of games right before Christmas Break, as the Lady Bruins grabbed their first District win but BHS guys fell in a double-header against Edmond Santa Fe.

The Lady Bruins dominated the Wolves for the final three quarters in a 72-57 victory. The win moves Bartlesville to 5-3 overall and 1-3 in the District.

BHS trailed 17-15 at the end of the first quarter, but allowed only 12 points in the next 14 minutes of gameplay to get its lead to around 20.

Sami Shaeffer was the hero. She had 18 first half points en route to 26 for the game.

This offensive rebound and stuck back was one her best plays of the night

Shaylyn Ishem had her best night as a Lady Bruin with 15 points off the bench.

Meanwhile it was a better effort for the Bruin guys, but not enough to overcome a talented Edmond Santa Fe team. Wolves won, 84-47.

Despite the lopsided result, Bartlesville trimmed a 29-point lead down to 20 in the third quarter and scored 31 points in the second half.

This buzzer beater from Titus Huck gave BHS some momentum heading into the fourth quarter.

Sutton Huff led the way with nine points off the bench.

Bartlesville drops to 3-5 with the loss and 0-4 in District play.

Both teams will be off for a bit more than two weeks and will get back at it at Putnam City North on Jan. 6.
