Castillo Makes First Cut for Team USA
Bartlesville High basketball standout David Castillo has made the first round of cuts during the Team USA Mini Camp in Colorado Springs.
Castillo was one of 34 guys vying for a roster spot on the U17 Team USA club that will compete in the FIBA World Cup next month in Spain. The roster was whittled down to 18 on Monday, and Castillo is still on the list.
Castillo will continue to work out through Saturday in Colorado Springs, as one more round of cuts will round out the final roster at 12.
The Bruin junior averaged 24.7 points-per-game while shooting 37-percent from beyond the arc this past season. Castillo made the U16 club this past summer and competed representing his country in Mexico
