Dewey Baseball Dominates Sperry

Dewey baseball dominated the first of a crucial two-game district set on Monday night against Sperry.
The Bulldoggers rolled past the Pirates, 19-3.
Dewey's bats stayed hot from the start, scoring at least three runs in every inning. Dewey scored five runs in the second and eight runs in the fourth to put the game away early.
Nate Sloan hit a three-run homerun to put Dewey ahead in the first inning, he finished with five RBIs. Layne Gastel led the way for the Bulldoggers with a 3-for-3 night, 6 RBIs and a walk. Lathe Griggs struck out six batters through four innings of work in his start, Levi Wilson pitched the fifth inning.
The Bulldoggers with the win are 23-6 overall and 11-2 in district play. They can clinch the district championship with a win over Sperry on Tuesday on the road. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
