Dewey Baseball Falls in 3A State Tournament

Dewey Bulldogger baseball fell in the opening round of the 3A state tournament in Norman on Thursday night.


The Bulldoggers fell to Washington, 8-2.


Washington took control of the contest early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second. Dewey did hold a brief lead in the top of the second, thanks to this RBI single from Mason Snellgrove.


Dewey played from behind for most of the night but was never fully out of the contest. The Bulldoggers got down 4-1 after three innings before cutting the deficit back to two. This RBI single from Chase Miller kept Dewey within a pair.


Dewey's offense stalled out the rest of the night, Washington responded with another run in the bottom of the fifth and three runs in the bottom of the sixth to put the game away.


Jackson Fox led the way for Dewey, he finished 2-for-2 with a double. Lathe Griggs, Levi Wilson, Jr. and Easton Davis combined for six strikeouts on the mound.


The loss ends Dewey's season in the first round of the state tournament. They close out 2026 with an overall record of 30-10.
