The dead period for high school sports is underway this week, as athletes are not able to workout on campus for just about a week.

At Dewey, the Bulldogger football team is midway through summer pride and has competed in a handful of 7-on-7 competitions with lots of new pieces this coming fall.

The Bulldoggers were not able to compete in a passing league event last Tuesday due to weather, but have played in 7-on-7 events at both Pawhuska and Rejoice Christian.

Head coach Scott Sapulpa talks about the pace at Rejoice's passing league.

For the summer pride program itself, Dewey holds workout sessions four days a week, Monday through Thursday. After wrapping up workouts before the dead period last week, Sapulpa talks about the final day of workouts before the dead period.

The dead period will be in effect for nine days.
