Fiesta Bowl Airs on KWON

It’s one the biggest football days of the year and the Oklahoma State Cowboys headline an outstanding college football slate. The Cowboys are in Glendale, AZ for the Fiesta Bowl. The Pokes take on Notre Dame in the first ever meeting between the two schools. Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy says this is a matchup between two premier programs.

Both teams have felt the effects of the coaching carousel. OSU defensive coordinator Jim Knowles is coaching his final game before taking the same role at Ohio State. Notre Dame promoted assistant coach Marcus Freeman to head job after Brian Kelly left for LSU.

Coach Gundy has said that no Cowboys have opted-out of the bowl game. Meanwhile, the Irish will be without a few top pro prospects including safety Kyle Hamilton and running back Kyren Williams.

The Cowboys are making their first top-tier bowl appearance since winning the Fiesta Bowl in 2011. Coverage starts just after 10 a.m. on KWON AM 1400—FM 93.3, 95.1. Kickoff is set for Noon.
