As we told you earlier this week, a former Bartlesville Bruin baseball player is staring on his summer team at the nationwide level.

Zeb Henry, a Bruin 2023 graduate, is still leading off and playing short stop for the Kansas Cannons, a club in the NBC World Series in Wichita.

Henry’s team just made the semifinals of the nationally known summer baseball tournament on Friday night with a quarterfinal win on Thursday.

The Cannons beat the Derby Twins, 9-8.

Henry led off and went 0-4 with a run scored and a couple of walks. He also led the team again with 10 assists in the field.

The Cannons will play for a spot in the championship against the Hutchinson Monarchs at 6:00 this evening from Eck Stadium in Wichita.

A team the Doenges Ford Indians played several times this summer, the Tulsa Sandlot, also competed in that event. The Sandlot went 3-2 in the tournament, but were bumped out on Thursday by the Hays Larks, 4-2.
