Hillcrest Country Club Hosts Boys State

Hillcrest Country Club again hosts the 6A State Golf Tournament starting bright and early on Monday morning.

Should be another good couple of days weather wise in Bartlesville for the statewide event.

Just like the girls last week, the Bartlesville High boys will get a chance to play in the state’s premier high school event at home.

BHS finished fourth at Regionals to qualify the entire team for State.

The Bruins have been putting together some of their best rounds of the year over the past few weeks. Bartlesville will be led by junior Jay Wasemiller, who should have a chance at a high finish individually. However, some of the BHS sophomores like Carter Sauer, have been coming on strong.

Bartlesville head coach Carl Holmes talks about the sophomores and Sauer.

Holmes says the situation Bartlesville finds itself in is unique. Getting to play in a tournament of this caliber at home is not an opportunity he wants his team to let go by the wayside.

BHS Tee Times on Monday:

Hole 10

8:50- Lucas Wyatt
9:00- Damien Walker
9:10- Carter Sauer
9:20- Hudson Coats
9:30- Jay Wasemiller
