Accolades continue to roll in on the heels of another state tournament appearance for the Oklahoma Union boys’ basketball team. Kade Hollingshed was announced as the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association Region 3 District Player of the Year.

Hollingshed was recently named a Class 2A All-Star, along with teammate Jaiden Kennard. Hollingshed also takes home the same honor as his older brother, Jace, who won the District 3 POTY last season. Former OKU head coach Lee Ott talks about the honors.

Hollingshed was the leading scorer on last year’s team. He won 97 games, four Northeast Valley Conference champions, started on two state tournament teams and took home one state title in his OKU career. Hollingshed was also part of a senior class that never lost a home game.

Caney Valley’s Daniel Barham made the Region 2 All-District roster as well.
