Huskies Defeat Nowata for First Win of the Year
Week zero featured an area match-up between two area foes and a lot was on the line, as Pawhuska and Nowata faced off in a district game. The Huskies started strong, scoring on five of their seven first half possessions and going on to get a 50-6 win.
It was the sophomore running back who got things started early for the Huskies. Vann Wildcat scampered 72 yards for the first touchdown of the Pawhuska season.
Wildcat went on to score the next touchdown to go up 16-0. Leading 24-0, it was the young freshman Jenson Snodgrass who got in on the action, on this pitch and catch from quarterback Canyon Hindman.
The Huskies went on to take a 36-0 lead at halftime. Nowata's lone score came on this 57 yard strike from quarterback Trevor Emberson to Sebastian Brown.
Pawhuska will host Meeker. That is a game that can be heard on 99.1 FM KPGM and KPGMTV.com. Nowata will play at Warner.
