Doenges Ford Indians baseball begins on Friday night, as the Tribe make the 2.5-hour trip to Fort Smith, Arkansas for the next three days to kick off their season.

Bartlesville will have a single-game scheduled at 8:30 PM. The Indians then have two games on Saturday evening with bracket play of the Katzer Tournament on Sunday.

The Indians will kick-off their 82nd season as one of the most historic summer baseball programs in the country.

FULL INDIANS SCHEDULE

Eight different local schools will be represented on this year’s team, which will still mostly be anchored by current or former Bartlesville High Bruins. Of the 16 guys on the roster, 13 are returners.

Manager John Pannell is back for another summer. He talks about why so many guys want to come back and continue playing for the team year after year.

As for the baseball this weekend: The Indians will likely be a favorite to go 1-0 in the event tonight. The tougher games begin on Saturday evening with a double-header against the host Fort Smith Sportsmen and Conway, Arkansas at 5:00 and 7:30.

Pannell says those two games won’t be easy.

We will carry the Indian’s games this weekend on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. Video coverage on KWONTV.com.
