The Doenges Ford Indians officially broke out of their offensive slump in a big way on Tuesday night.

It was a double-header sweep over Independence, Kansas to grab wins No. 16 and 17 of the summer, but more importantly, get the offense right before the final two tournaments of the year.

Bartlesville beat Independence 15-0 in a run-rule (3 inning) game one, then held on for a 7-5 victory in game two.

The Indian’s offense was the story of both games. Bartlesville barely worked any free passes but pounded out 27 base hits over 10 innings of action in the twin bill.

In game one it was an onslaught from the beginning. The Tribe scored nearly all its runs off two-out base knocks.

Bartlesville had five doubles, including this one from Luke Fox that grew B’ville’s lead to double-digits.

Indians scored four in the first then eight more in the second to put the game away.

Grant Clark allowed only two hits in the shortened complete-game shutout. Clark struck out three and walked none.

Game two was way more of a battle. Despite an early 4-0 lead for the Indians, Independence crawled back. The Dawgs got within one run late, but Zane Stricklin and Fox combined to toss a scoreless sixth and seventh to close out the win.

Kaleb Bashford started the twin bill at 6-6, this triple in the fourth continued the Tribe’s good day offensively.

After six games over the past six days there is now some downtime for the Tribe.

Bartlesville improves to 17-12-1 on the summer and will not play until this coming Tuesday, when the Dawgs make a return trip to Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium
