The Doenges Ford Indians played their first two games in the Oklahoma Collegiate League on Wednesday night in downtown Bartlesville.

The Tribe tied the first game and then won in rule-rule fashion in the second.

In game one hits were at a premium. Marrucci Midwest would score two runs in the top of the seventh to force a 2-2 tie, the game was called after a time limit.

Indian starter Bradee Rigdon was sharp through four innings of work on the mound. Rigdon struck out eight, scattered four hits and did not allow a run. Rigdon barely ran into trouble in the outing.

Meanwhile former Barnsdall Panther Josh Weber threw three solid innings in relief. The Indians didn’t get their first hit until there were two outs in the fifth. Bartlesville could not score in the bottom of the seventh to break the tie.

The Indians took out their frustrations in the second game, an 11-1 five-inning victory over the Diamond Dawgs, a Muskogee based college-club. Bartlesville hit early and often in game two, with Daniel Barham giving the Tribe an early 2-0 lead on this double.

Former Pawhuska Husky and current Northeastern Colorado pitcher Ryan Jones was sharp on the mound. He threw four innings of one-run ball to earn the win. With the Indians threatening to run-rule in the bottom of the fifth, they would get a gapper from former Bartlesville Bruin Harrison Clark and the rout was on.

Bartlesville improves to 6-4-1 on the year with the tie and win, and the Indians are right back after it on Thursday.
