Bartlesville High has found its new girls’ basketball coach, and the Bruins did not have to look far.

Jason Flick, a longtime Bruin coach and BHS grad will serve as the new Lady Bruin skipper.

Flick had worked as the main assistant on the Bartlesville girl’s staff with former head coach Justyn Shaw. Shaw stepped away from the program following 2026.

Flick has been working with Bartlesville basketball in some capacity for 21 years. He was born and raised in Bartlesville.

Flick says he is excited to get going in his own hometown.

Shaw was hired before the 2021-22 season. Lady Bruin basketball has been one of the better programs for BHS Athletics over the past decade with two appearances in the 6A State Tournament in that span.

Flick was an assistant with the boy's program for eight seasons with former head coach Clent Stewart prior to moving to the girl's side.

Bartlesville High Athletic and Activities Director Thad Dilbeck says Flick’s experience in the District will be valuable leading the program.

BHS will have to replace four of its six rotational varsity players on a team that made the 6A State Tournament in 2026.

More is planned on this story later this week.
