Mba-Thornton Shows Bruin Culture

Bartlesville High baseball wrapped up its season about a month ago. The Bruins struggled at their 6A Regional, going 0-2 in Edmond Deer Creek.
Despite a somewhat sour end, Bartlesville had some big-time positives from some unlikely personnel.
After injuries to the Bruin’s starting rotation, Bartlesville used sophomore DJ Mba-Thorton and senior transfer Hudson Baker in District games throughout the year. The two combined to win six games. They both finished the year with a sub 4.00 ERA.
Mba-Thornton was particularly impressive. After not even starting the year on the varsity roster, he ended up with a 2.39 ERA in 49.2 innings in a District starting role.
Head coach Cody Price talks about new pitchers, and others, stepping up.
BHS will return just over half of its starting batting lineup and two of its top three pitchers from this past spring.
