A Bartlesville sports legend passed away early on Wednesday.

KWON has learned longtime Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise sports editor and Bartlesville Sports Hall of Famer Mike Tupa has died. 

Tupa was with the EE for 28 years and was inducted into the Bartlesville Sports Hall of Fame for his work. 

Perhaps no one is more responsible for moving sports in NE Oklahoma forward than Tupa, who won dozens of regional and statewide awards for his reporting. 

In recent years Tupa ran Bartlesville Area Sports with longtime EE photographer Becky Burch.
