Morris and Mestemaker Talk '26 Pokes

It was Oklahoma State’s day in the spotlight on Tuesday during day one of the Big 12 Media Days from Frisco, Texas.

First-year Cowboy head coach Eric Morris and a few of OK-State’s stars talked about a new era in Stillwater.

It is more than 80 newcomers this season, a sight not uncommon after coaching changes. Morris says Stillwater itself has helped in bonding with a new group. 

The most impactful newcomer may be at the quarterback spot. Former North Texas QB Drew Mestemaker was named Big 12 Newcomer of the year on Monday.

He says that he thinks the ceiling is high for this group, but Morris is urging the club to take things one day at a time. 

More from Big 12 Media Days is expected throughout the week.

On Wednesday Kansas and Kansas State will take the podium along with Arizona, Cincinnati, Iowa State, TCU, Utah, and West Virginia.
