Mustangs Drop Pair to Grove, Look Ahead to Home Tournament

The Oologah-Talala Mustang boys suffered their second loss to Grove in three games Tuesday night, this time in decisive fashion. After a thrilling first matchup that saw the Mustangs fall by just one point in overtime, the rematch told a much different story. Grove controlled the tempo throughout, handing Oologah-Talala a 47–81 loss as the Ridgerunners pulled away early and never looked back.

The girls contest, however, proved to be far more competitive. The Lady Mustangs went toe-to-toe with the Lady Ridgerunners in a tightly contested matchup that stayed close until the final moments. Despite a strong effort on both ends of the floor, Oologah-Talala came up just short, falling 46–49 in a game that could have swung either way.

Despite the setbacks, both Oologah-Talala squads will have a chance to turn the page quickly. The Mustangs and Lady Mustangs now set their sights on rebounding at home, as they prepare to compete in their hometown tournament later this week, looking to build momentum in front of their home crowd.
