Nowata Ironmen basketball is back in action on Friday evening in the consolation round of the Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament.

The Ironmen fell to Mannford on Tuesday night, 54-42. Head coach Derick Ott talked about the contest.

The loss puts them on the doorstep of the fifth place game of the tournament on Saturday afternoon, but the next task is a familiar one with Oklahoma Union standing on the other side. The Cougars lost in the first round to another stellar Fairland team to drop into the consolation bracket.

Nowata and OKU met last Friday in Nowata and the Ironmen cruised to a 75-48 win. Head coach Riley Duncan talked about his takeaways from the first meeting with the Ironmen.

Nowata and OKU tip-off at 5:30 p.m. Coverage can be heard on 104.9 - KRIG and KRIGTV.com.

The Lady Ironmen will play at 4 p.m. against Fairland in a consolation battle on the girl's side. The OKU Lady Cougars play Coffeyville, Kan. at 7 p.m. in the other consolation game.
