The Nowata Ironmen have improved to 3-1 after a huge district blow-out win in their home opener against Caney Valley, 44-8. For the Ironmen, the big story on offense was Peyton Trotter who got to paydirt four total times on the night. Trotter opened up things with a four-yard scamper and a two-point conversion made it 8-0 heading into the second quarter.

The second quarter showed the Ironmen adding two more scores, one of them being a dime dropped by Trevor Emberson to Bear Savala for a six-yard score.

Nowata would score again before half but fail on the two-point try to take a 22-0 lead into halftime. Trotter would do it on his own in the third quarter as he added the final two of his four total scores on the night, this one being a 14-yard run to go up 28-0.

Trotter would score two drives later on a 15-yard touchdown catch as the Ironmen went up 36-0 in the third. Both teams traded a fourth quarter score as the Ironmen wrapped up their first district win of the season 44-8.

Trotter was named our Patriot Auto Player of the Game for his four-touchdown performance. Trevor Emberson was also solid for the Ironmen at quarterback as he threw two more touchdowns with no picks to make his season total at seven touchdowns to just 1 interception.

Nowata will be back at home next Friday when they host the Vinita Hornets in a game we will carry on KRIG 104.9 and KRIGTV.com
