After a condensed regular season the Oklahoma Union baseball team is getting set for postseason action. The Cougars will host Rejoice Christian for district playoff action on Thursday afternoon.

OKU did not play its first game of the season until March 24 after making another run to the boys’ basketball state tournament. Many key players were on the basketball team and got a late start to the baseball season. OKU head coach Thad Hewitt says it shows how impressive these athletes are to thrive in multiple sports.

The Cougars are currently 7-11 on the season. OKU took home a conference sweep against Chelsea and also earned a 3-0 shutout victory over Nowata in the regular season finale. The Cougars are led by veterans Bryce Gillespie, Kade Hollingshed and Jaren Bottoms among others.

The district games are set for 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. from OKU.
