OKU Baseball Wins District Championship, Awaits Regional Assignment
Baseball districts and regionals are wrapping up all over Oklahoma this week in lower classifications, and included in that is Oklahoma Union. The Cougars are sitting pretty after a two-game district sweep over Caney Valley on Tuesday to become district champs.
The Cougars beat the Trojans 10-6 in game one and 8-6 in game two. Cougar Head Coach Aaron Funkhouser talks about the district championship win.
The Cougars now sit at 17-11 on the season and sit in limbo as they await their regional assignment. With severe weather looming this week, the schedule has become a bit messy and leaves a bit more unknown for what lies ahead for OKU.
Funkhouser shares his thoughts on the unknown for his team and controlling what they can control.
