OKWU Baseball Looks for Run in Conference Tournament

Oklahoma Wesleyan has wrapped up the regular season portion of their season on a sour note after a series loss to Ottawa this past weekend. The Eagles lost game three to the Braves on Saturday 10-12 to fall in the series to 1-2. With the loss, it marked the Eagles fifth loss in their last six contests.

Eagle Head Coach Kirk Kelly talks about the loss to the Braves.

Even with the Eagles tough stretch to end the season, they still grabbed the three seed in the conference to set them up against six-seeded Friends University in the first round of the KCAC tournament. Wesleyan swept Friends in the lone series played this season at a combined score of 30-15 in three games.

Even with a favorable matchup, and the season series win, Head Coach Kirk Kelly knows that regular season results are meaningless now. He shares his thoughts on the matchup with the Falcons.

At 31-18, the Eagles will more than likely have to win the conference tournament to grab a bid for the NAIA national tournament. With that in mind, Kelly shares what he wants to see from his team during this first leg of postseason play.

Eagles and Falcons will start their journey towards a KCAC tournament title in Great Bend, Kansas on Thursday morning at 9 am.
