OKWU Baseball punched their ticket to the NAIA national tournament next week after winning their first tournament conference championship since 2019. The Eagles needed to go 4-0 in the KCAC tournament to advance to the national tournament, and they did exactly that.

The Eagles beat Friends University twice, Tabor, and conference leading Kansas Wesleyan to bring home the conference crown. Wesleyan Head Coach Kirk Kelly talks about the weekend.

As Kelly mentioned, Ashton Luerta was absolutely dominant on the mound for the Eagles in the title game. Luerta only faced 12 batters but sat down 11 of them via the strikeout. Kelly talked about Luerta’s performance.

OKWU now awaits their fate this Thursday when they find out their opponent for the first round of the NAIA tournament next Monday. Kelly details why he feels like his team could bring home a national championship this season.

We will have more information later this week when Wesleyan finds out their first-round opponent on Thursday.
