Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball is two days away from their first round matchup in the NAIA national tournament.

The Eagles enter the 64-team field with an overall record of 28-3 and a 20-2 record in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC). OKWU won the regular season and tournament titles for the second time in three years. They will host their opening round matchup at the Mueller Sports Center on Friday night for the first time in program history.

For Oklahoma Wesleyan, they're playing for more than just their second national championship. On Aug. 19, 2025, OKWU assistant coach Thomas Poling died at the age of 67. He was on the staff for last year's run to the national championship game.

Head coach Donnie Bostwick talks about Poling's legacy.

Throughout this season, the Eagles have worn green shirts during warm-ups that say, "In Memory of Coach Poling...We Believe" on the back.

OKWU's first game in the national tournament is Friday night against Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) at 6 p.m.
