Oklahoma football had a bad end to the regular season, but the Sooners bowl performance on Wednesday night will make OU fans feel better heading into the offseason.

Oklahoma blasted Oregon in an Alamo Bowl win to remember, 47-32.

Bob Stoops got another win as head coach of the Sooners and his club put the game away early. It was 30-3 Oklahoma at halftime. 24-unanswerd points in the second quarter put the writing on the wall for the Ducks, and gave Oklahoma its 11th win of the season.

Tailback Kennedy Brooks was a bellcow. He ran the ball 14 times for 142 yards and three scores, including this one, which put Oklahoma up 44-18.

The game will likely be remembered as Stoops last on the sideline for Oklahoma. Called back into duty after former head coach Lincoln Riley bolted for USC following the Sooners Bedlam loss. Stoops said it was good to end the season on a high note.

Big-game Bob hands the visor over the Brent Venables who will coach Oklahoma’s opener this coming fall.
