College football over the weekend, both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State had some tense moments in the fourth quarter but pulled away in the end.

Let’s start in Norman, where OU would beat SMU, 28-11. The Mustangs pushed the Sooners a bit down the stretch. A couple miscues on offense in the early part of the second half led to SMU getting within three mid-way through the fourth quarter.

The Sooners would score two unanswered touchdowns to win by 17.

Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables after the win.

OU is 2-0 and next on the road at Tulsa on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 on 100.1 - KYFM.

Meanwhile Oklahoma State had a hot trip to the desert, but the Cowboys uneven offense attack still led to a road win against a power five opponent. Pokes beat Arizona State, 27-15.

Again, Mike Gundy played three quarterbacks.

It was Garrett Rangel who closed the game with this touchdown to Brennen Presley to assure a Cowboy victory.

Pokes are 2-0, they will host South Alabama on Saturday night at 6:30 in Stillwater on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1

Tulsa was never seriously in its game at No. 8 Washington. Huskies dominated, 43-10. TU will next host the Sooners in a game that is already sold-out Saturday afternoon at H.A. Chapman Stadium on KRIG 104.9.
