Patriot Athlete of the Week: Chanley Herren

It's another Monday, which means we have another Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week.

This week, we feature Dewey senior Chanley Herren.

Herren just wrapped up her final softball season with Dewey last month. The Lady Bulldoggers went 29-9 and won a district championship. Their season came to a close in the regional rounds of the playoffs.

Herren talked about her experience with Dewey softball.

Aside from playing softball, Herren appears in other sports as well. She also plays basketball and runs track. Herren talked about getting to play multiple sports at a smaller school.

As far as the future goes, Herren will play college softball at Crowder College, a junior college in Neosho, Missouri. Herren was recruited to Crowder by her former softball coach at Dewey, Niki Keck.

Keck was named the head coach at Crowder last December and went 54-11 in her first season. She took the club to the NJCAA World Series.

With Herren's final softball season complete, she talked about some of her favorite moments with the club.

Congrats once again to Chanley Herren for being this week's Patriot Auto Group Area Athlete of the Week, powered by Tri County Tech.
